Ron Paul won't switch parties. Bummer.

According to the AP, Ron Paul won't switch to the Libertarian Party.

In a way, this is disappointing. In my never-humble opinion, having Paul on the LP ticket would draw a lot of votes over our way, and possibly enlighten some RepubliCrats in the process as to the actual, defined [read: limited] functions of the federal government.

In another way, this is a good idea. If I were Paul, I'd keep the delegates and make McCain grovel for them. Make the GOP go into brokered-convention pie-fight mode. (This would be fun to watch on the Democrat Party side, too.)

Time will tell. Either way, imperfect as Ron Paul may be... I'm glad he's made the effort of tilting at the windmill of the state.
