Ron Paul Redux

I've done some musing on the Ron Paul effort over at Push Liberty. Give it a click.

Note to my Libertarian brothers/sisters: Let's see how this plays out. IF Paul comes over for one more grab at the brass ring, and wants to do it under the LP banner... who are we to say no?

On the other hand, if - as I theorize - Paul stays in the Republican race, and refuses to concede to the nearly-unhinged John McCain... well, that would muck things up, wouldn't it?

I'm in a mischievous mood, and Ron Paul staying in the fight and possibly triggering a brokered GOP convention... well, that sure would piss off the FreeRepublic crowd, wouldn't it? (Not that most Freepers aren't pissed off anyway. Hey, most Freepers are big-government "conservatives"; they view libertarianism as some kind of threat to their existence. I know, I've argued with them.)

What say ye, blogosphereoids? Should Paul stay in the GOP hunt, jump ship and be the Libertarian Party candidate, or drop out entirely and let Captain McQueeg have the glory?

I'll say this much: Ron Paul should at least work to get re-elected to his House of Representatives post. We need Dr. No to stay in some kind of position... after all, he is the only exception to the Gang of 535.
